This project was one I had to put together quickly because I had a great-nephew make his debut into the world a bit earlier than expected. This prompted my use of some on-hand baby images that I’d had in my stash for awhile, so the stamping here is bare-minimum–in the sentiment only, but I’ve got a whole bunch of “punch-action” going on to throw in a huge Stampin’ UP! element to the finished card.
This was the first time I’d ever made the been-around-awhile step-blocks-card (Dawn’s Stamping Thoughts youtube tutorial here). I absolutely love how it lends itself to the appearance of baby blocks. What could be more perfect to welcome a newborn? I’ve used my absolute favorite-for-baby-boys paper ever, that I’ll never get rid of til it’s used up. It’s a Sale-a-bration dsp from 2009, called Delicate Dots. I bought enough that year to earn several packs — so I’m set til another 50 baby boys come along. 😉
Card Recipe additional items:
- Baked Brown Sugar ink
- Crumb Cake, Whisper White, So Saffron, and Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock.
- 1″ and 1-1/4″ Circle, Hexagon Punches
- Itty Bitty Banners stamp
- Bitty Banners Framelits
I added my personalization for the card (which is “blocked out” all the way around, front and back) to the bottom of the block stack, with a simple handwritten note.Short (list), sweet, and adorable–just like the little boy it’s for!
