Fab Friday Sunshine

FabFri111

This simple sketch (#111 from Fab Friday) FabFri111 (1)inspired something far less simple by the time I’d finished it.  Lots of layers going on here, some serious die-cutting activity, a tad of bling…and just a smidge of actual stamping on this one. Using some more of this scrumptious paper– which gives me my much-loved very-vintage look, with no work on my part whatsoever. So I get to stay true to the clean lines of the sketch, but still accomplish my “messy” style. Win!

Shine On!

Shine On 1

Day 3 of my Serene Scenery batch of cards was inspired both by Patty Bennett’s tutorial here and by fellow Pal Brian King’s brilliant butchering of two of the words in the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. A slicing-and-dicing, and then a mash-up of “sunshine” and “congrats” produced Brian’s “shine on”–a perfectly bright and happy phrase, backed with some more serenity in this fabulous dsp.

Serene Hope

Spring Hope 1

The amazing Patty Bennett has a video tutorial here that I used as inspiration for a group of cards I’ll be showcasing this week.  I basically used her layout idea–designed for the SU notecard size–and adapted it to fit the size I needed for my batch of cards. It simply produced the perfect way to showcase this wonderful SU paper stack, my stash of ribbon, and the messages I wanted to convey.

One more quick card made with some of my favorite paper ever. This time a congratulations card for a friend who I thought could use a bit of recognition for a recent accomplishment.  This paper, the word die, a smidge of ribbon and bling–and done!
